Profile locked to 1 phone, but games locked to the profile, not the phone. Where ever the profile went the games did. Profile only works on 1 device at a time.
yea!! sounds nice, and... some kind of pc application to do everything automatically, maybe: connect old device by usb> run "ngage switch" app (or wathever name)> wait to everything is loaded to the pc (and erased from the device)> desconnect old device> connect new device by usb> transfer everything to the new device (games, savegames, profile, etc)> desconnect new device> done! and obiously, the app its going to need internet connections to do the IMEI transfer on the servers sound good, but usb data transfer its too slow, and what happens if someone has a lot of games! this proccess would take hours! saludos

Locking games to the profile rather than solely to the phone seems the most logical way to go - if one changes phone all that would be needed is to resync and then games and profile locked to new phone. At the present time there is no set system in place for these occurences and it is a major issue for NG - as big an issue as lack of save game backup.

If you want your N-Gage games on your new phone, you'll have to buy them all over again

Just read this depressing article. Appearantly the N-Gage games aren't linked to the N-Gage account as I belived, but rather to the phone IMEI number. Meaning, that if you buy a new phone then you have to re-buy the games. Having the games locked to the IMEI doesn't make any sense when there are N-Gage accounts involved that are so much more flexible. Suddenly the N-Gage platform got a lot less attractive to me, and I may just stick with the java games for awhile longer. There are good java games out there such as Sola Rola and Puzzle Quest. The games has to be really good if I'm gonna buy a locked game, so until there's some indepth single player RPGs similiar to Rifts or Shadowkey, it seems like I'm gonna avoid this platform as much as possible.

I fully support this idea that has been reffered to as "Game Locker" (as in those lockers you put your school books in, not actual LOCKING) in another thread. I also would like to add that this Game Locker should have a game save storage too. The files for them arent that big. With this I mean that the Game Locker should store the following to your N-Gage Arena account: License Keys Game Saves Other account info (Phone IMEI etc.) This means if you lose a game, you re-download it from the showroom. Then you can login to N-Gage Arena and retrieve your save files so you wont have to start over. Starting over can be the most irritating thing in games such as CotD 'cos its a long game or Asphalt 3 as the Online Rankings go by your total in-game cash from single player mode. Also, the neccessary information, such as phone IMEI should be there too. N-Gage.com could (someday) implement a tool on this site that would allow you to swap your account to your new phone, thus disableing it from all others. But it would be good if you could go to a Nokia store and get it done there. And ofcourse get the Nokia Customer Care up to date about N-Gage. There are STILL employees who have no idea WTF N-Gage is! Hence why Congesteds PM box is about to burst all the time due to help requests. So, implement that and make a guide about it in multiple languages, add it into the FAQ and we all will be happy and support N-Gage in the future. Even the first gen MMC system worked better, though it was very prone to piracy.

Heard about this over at AAS. Just joined up to say that if this method goes ahead, I will not be buying any Ngage games. Would be in everyones interests to change this.
