pyrrhus: Phalnax's question is a good one to start with - Been playing games since before I can remember - things started heating up with the Atari 2600 - basically a junkie all my life. Went to college, but spent more time in the arcade than at class, and the same for law school - always at the arcade. After law school went to a big firm that tears people apart - started doing work for Sega in 1996-1997 - joined in 1999-2000 time frame....

pyrrhus: Java games - we have found that N-gages are one of the hottest java gaming devices - we are looking into supporting java from a publishing perspective in the near future - however - we need to make sure that we are not sacrificing quality or playability

It is interesting to note however, that the performance and chipsets have been increasing in power and versatility exponentially, so where we thought that maybe one or two devices in Nokia's portfolio could match PSP in terms or performance - innovation is happening so quickly that it could be that many match PSP by 2007

I also want to be rolling out the next gen arena and arena launcher and I want to expand our installed base FAR beyond its current state, both from a device perspective and an Arena perspective

pyrrhus: I currently use the old N-gage. I love that thing, and I am pretty attached to it. It also is a tri-band phone, meaning I can use it in Europe when I am traveling to Finland. We did have game testers test the rubber strip - Murphy's Law struck on that one

pyrrhus: I was hesitant at first. I wanted to make sure that I had commitment from Nokia top management that they were committed to N-Gage. I did not want to put my blood sweat and tears into something that would not be supported. I was assured that Nokia top mgt was committed and that they would give me the time and resources to pull it around. Once that was done - it was a no brainer. Think about how lucky I am. I get to work in games! I am at the cutting edge of entertainment and tech! How cool is that. Then I get to work with people like redrum and congested, who keep me young. Then I also get to hang out with you guys, which energize me and keeps me going. How lucky am I? Very!
pyrrhus: That said - we have significant challenges ahead - and I know it is not going to be easy. We need to focus on better user experiences, even better games, and in a ROBUSTIFIED Arena.
