What is the pre-release version of the N-Gage application?

We are currrently putting the final touches on the N-Gage application and service in order to make it the best it can be. There are some issues that we are aware of and are working to resolve. Your valuable feedback during N-Gage First Access is very important to help us refine the N-Gage experience. Before using the application, please review the Known Issues section of the readme.txt included in the download package.


How do I use the pre-release version of the N-Gage application?
Please refer to the N-Gage Application User Guide, bundled with the application. It will tell you everything you need to know about using the software. But please be aware that the User Guide was not written for the pre-release version of the N-Gage application available through N-Gage First Access, and so some of the features mentioned in the User Guide may not be completely available in this pre-release version.

 

What do I need to use the pre-release version of the N-Gage application?
You will need to have a Nokia N81 or N81 8GB device in order to use the N-Gage application.


What is the current version of the N-Gage application?
The pre-release version of the N-Gage application (version 1.0) is the near final version of the N-Gage application with some differences in features and functionality. Consult the readme.txt file included in the pre-release application package.

 

Where do I download the pre-release version of the N-Gage application?

To get started, go to the Download the N-Gage Application forum.

 
What name and password do I use to sign on to the application?
When you first go online with the pre-release version of the N-Gage application, you will be prompted to create an N-Gage Player Name and password, and provide an email address. This will be your temporary First Access Player Name that will be valid for the duration of N-Gage First Access.

PLEASE NOTE:
For the duration of N-Gage First Access, you will need to create a new Player Name and password for use on the application. It can be the same as the N-Gage Player Name you use on the N-Gage.com message boards, however they are recorded on a different database and the name you use on the application will only be valid for the period of the N-Gage First Access.

 

PLEASE WRITE DOWN YOUR PASSWORD!
If you lose it, you will not be able to retrieve it automatically via email, and you will need to contact a dedicated N-Gage First Access forum moderator for assistance. See the section 'Getting Help', below.

How do I get more N-Gage games?
There are several N-Gage game trials bundled within the download zip file. However we will be adding additional games to the Games Showroom on the pre-release version of the N-Gage application on an ongoing basis, so check there for additional releases in the weeks ahead.

If I'm having an issue regarding a game purchase or game activation, who do I contact? 
Please contact the
Nokia Support Center. They will have the most up-to-date information about your purchase, so please contact them directly. When submitting an issue, the following information handy:

 

* Firmware version of your device (enter #0000# to display firmware version)
* Operator and service plan
* Country
* Data connection type (i.e. - GPRS, WLAN, 3G, etc.)
* Brief description of problem.

 

NOTE: If this is regarding a problem with an activation of a game, please have your activation code handy.

 

 

Are there any fees or costs involved with N-Gage First Access?

 

Nokia does not ask for payment for creating an N-Gage Player Name, trying the trial versions of the games, or using the pre-release version of the N-Gage application. However to access full versions of the games you will be required to purchase a game license.

 

In addition, use of the N-Gage service from a mobile device requires the use of air time (i.e. network connection). In order to use the N-Gage service mobile data traffic delivery services (GPRS, 3G and/or WLAN) are needed. Network connection and data charges may apply for the downloading of applications, games and game trials via Internet and/or from your mobile device. Please contact your mobile service provider for information on your data plan. Make sure that you have an appropriate data plan as part of your subscription so you can use the N-Gage services in the most cost efficient way.

 

PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU PURCHASE A GAME THROUGH N-GAGE FIRST ACCESS, BE SURE TO ENTER A VALID EMAIL ADDRESS IN ORDER TO RECEIVE A RECEIPT CONTAINING YOUR ACTIVATION CODE. PLEASE RETAIN THIS EMAIL AND ACTIVATION CODE FOR YOUR RECORDS.
